Calibration Set Browser

An important consideration when dating cosmogenic nuclide samples is the accuracy of HLSL production rates, which are deteremined mostly by the use of calibration datasets. The calibration set browser provides a simple interface to view the details of calibration datasets:

The View option at the top of the browser allows different sets of sample attributes to be displayed, in exactly the same way as for the sample editor.  Views are created and modified by the View Editor.

Calibration datasets are imported into ACE the same way as regular datasets, except that the samples also contain ‘independent age’ and ‘independent age uncertainty’ columns in the csv file. With these columns present ACE automatically recognises them as calibration datasets. The Group Editor can then be used to make calibration subsets from the imported dataset or combined imported datasets together to make large calibration sets.  However some calibration datasets are generated for a specific purpose, so that merging them with others could prove problematic.  We therefore encourage users to understand the details of calibration datasets before merging or modifying them. As a result, all calibration datasets included with ACE are listed in the Data Section of the ACE website with doi tags so that they can be fully understood before modification.
