Production Rate Profile

For a dated sample, the Production Rate Profile Utility estimates time averaged production rates at and below the ground surface. For a non-eroding sample the profile can be determined by selecting a sample and choosing  Production Rate Profile from the Utilities menu:

A profile should appear in a new window.  The figure below is for a stable nuclide generated only by spallation:

Nuclides generated by both spallation and muon such as 10Be, 26Al and 14C show both profiles and the combined total production:

And for 36Cl samples where low-energy neutron capture also occurs, all three production profiles are shown:

For further analysis, each time a profile is viewed a corresponding text file is created in the profiles folder of the user’s repository. This file is in csv format, and lists each production rate as a function of depth down to 50 cm. The file name is given as Sample_Experiment.csv.
